Our story

The hairdressing salon was born on May 22, 1990. Yan and Ghyslain Chabot, two twins, entered the business world by acquiring the building at 3613 St-Laurent.

In February 1996, Tonic became an Aveda Lifestyle boutique and some time later, following a complete reorganization of the company, the salon was transformed into an Aveda concept salon in June 1997, the first of its kind in Quebec.

The Spa Tonic, a cherished project, will be built in August 1999, to which will be added the salon - Académie Tonic.

In 2008-2009, we witnessing a merger between Collega-Aveda International and Tonic. The excellent business relations that the two groups have maintained over the years have made it possible to expand and found the Aveda head office in Quebec, which has become the Aveda Salon Spa & Académie Lifestyle Concept.

July 2018, the distributor Collega - Aveda decides to sell the business to new owners, including Yan Chabot, Co-founder and creator of Tonic.

2020; After nearly 3 months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tonic Salon Spa reopens its doors on June 16. Ghyslain Chabot, Co-founder, joins the team again.
